On Friday, March 26, twelve teams from nine schools in the Vancouver Secondary Schools’ Athletic Association competed in the first ever Vancouver Sevens, which was ably hosted by Sir Winston Churchill Secondary. It was a very successful afternoon of rugby, and much credit is due to organizers Harp Sohi (Vancouver School District Athletics Facilitator) and Louis Jefferson (the Tournament Coordinator).
The Cup final was a close encounter with Kitsilano ‘Blue’ edging Prince of Wales ‘Black’ by a score of ten to five. Both of these teams now advance to the BCSSRU Sevens to be held at St. George’s School in Vancouver on April 17 and 18.
